Kool Ghoulz!!!!

One night a few weeks ago when my friend Christi Friesen was here at my studio teaching an awesome workshop, we stayed up late after class and I was watching her twist out little shapes of Glow-in-the-Dark clay. One by one these adorable little monters were being created, so I asked her if she minded if I gave it a whirl? So the two of us grown adult artists sat there laughing our heads off as these little ghoulish creations emerged! I have a line of Kool Katz that are featured on HGTV's "That's Clever" and each one sits atop a glass ice cube, so I thought to myself that I should put a little of my own spin on Christis ghouls that she was kind enough to let me mimmick! So thus were born "Kool Ghoulz"! And let me tell you something, that glow in the dark clay...it glows for a long time! They are for sale in my etsy shop...seller ID, "kissmystamp".

Oh Boy...where do I begin???

WOW!! It seems like forever since my last post here. I really need to get more faithful as I know a lot of my friends like to see what I have been up to. It was a very bad summer here in NH eatherwise, but I still managed to get in my share of outdoor activities! Mainly, raising chickens! LOL
But here we are at my favorite time of year, Halloween, and I will try and post a pic a day of my halloween projects I have been working on. One of my favorites that I have done is "Bat-thomomew, the keeper of time". I created him at the request of my friend Christi Friesen for a chance to be in her upcoming new Steampunk book, due out in December....I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Raising chicks and Claying....

I have been busy with a new hobby, well, it is turning into another little buisness venture (if I can ever part with them). I bought an incubator and started hatching Malaysian Seramas! They are the worlds smallest chickens and they are so cute! The problem is that I want to keep them all! So to help defray the feed costs, I started to create Poultry Pendants....check them out on my etsy shop (shop ID kissmystamp) here is the link:

Skulls, Skulls, and more Skulls.....

Here are some skull masks I made for a big skull swap a few months ago. I really enjoyed making them and perhaps will host a mask swap of my own. I like to make sure that all participants that take the time and effort will get a nice return in their swap goody bags! I tried to host a "Swap a Month" gig, but it was hard for everyone to get time, so perhaps a bi-monthly deal would be the better choice! We will see, but I really enjoyed seeing the masks in this swap and cannot wait for the book to come out to see even more!

Its' been a long time now, but...

It has been quite some time since my last post here, a few issues have come up with either my health, someone elses what they say, Life gets in the way!health, stress, work, and well...you know, life gets in the way! I hope it keeps getting in the way occasionally, because at least ya know your alive then! Anyway, I was out on my deck last night an saw this beautiful white lined sphynx moth drinking from my petunia plant. They resemble tiny hummingbirds. Ii ran into the house and snapped a couple of pictures with my little inexpensive digital camera and out of 4 shots, this was my miracle photo! I cannot believe the clarity I got considering the litlle moth was beating his wings so fast as it hovered at the opening of its' next drink! Also, it was dark outside and the camera took its' good old time waiting for the flash to go off and snap the picture. I hope you enjoy it!

Monster Kitty makes his debut!

I have designed a new cutter! It reminds me of the old Bugs Bunny cartoon where the big hairy orange "monster" gets a manicure from Bugs! Now I am dating myself! Anyway, I allways loved the shape of that monster, so I sketched out a similar shape and added cat ears, and, wa-la! Monster Kitty was created. I have so many ideas for him, but here are a few I did over the last coulple of days!

Well looky here, posting 2 days in a row! Here are some more cat creations I make. I call this line "Dominart" because I make them using domino's! I use evrything from decals, stickers, rubber stamps, inks, paint and my original art and then seal everything with epoxy resin!

Meow!!

Oh well, I have been busy making new cookie (clay) cutters and they all seem to be cats! Perhaps that is because I have decided to try a new venue and sell my creations, or at least try and sell them, at Cat Shows! I know I am a softee for a cute cat item, so I figure the die hard cat folks would like them too! Time will tell, so over the next couple days, I hope to show you some of the designs I have come up with!

Purrrrfect for Valentines Day!

Here is the purrrrfect solution to the person that does not want candy for Valentines Day! They are guaranteed not to have any fat or extra calories! These are just a few of my Kool Katz that are part of a line I have created, called Kool Kritters. Each cat comes with a numbered adoption certificate and its' very own pet tote! They each measure approx. 2-3" tall, sizes ,colors vary and I can replicate the color of your favorite feline with a photo! I was actually lucky enough to be contacted by HGTV and they came out to my studio last June to film me for 2 episodes for their cable television series "That's Clever". I cannot wait to see it when it finally airs sometime this year (they project late fall). So keep tuned to my blog because I will have the date of the airing posted as soon as I have it made available to me!
